Dance Programs & Workshops for NYCDOE

Cucala is a DOE Vendor! Dance is a healthy and artistic way to express feelings, take part in physical education, and understand anatomy, coordination, and body awareness. One of Cucala’s core values is community, and we look forward to building a dance community within K-12 schools to open the doors of opportunity into the arts. As a Vendor with the NYCDOE, Cucala offers seasonal afterschool and in-house dance classes for schools in Queens and around NYC. We also offer Dance Workshops & Assembly programs throughout the school year.

Seasonal Dance Afterschool Program

Fall Semester: September-December

Winter Semester: January-March

Spring Semester: April-June

Groove Afterschool Workshop

Students will learn the history of Salsa, Bachata, & Hip-Hop dance throughout the semester. Students will learn original choreographies in these distinct dance genres, and showcase them in a final performance at the end of our workshop. This is a unique opportunity for students to study various dance styles in depth with Cucala Instructors including:

  • NY Style Salsa

  • Hip-Hop

  • Latin Fusion

  • Ballet

  • Broadway

  • Bachata

  • Merengue

  • Jazz

  • Much more!
